Duties and responsibilities
Generic responsibilities
Serve as system administrator for Salesforce-based products, including maintaining user license and ORG registers.
Contribute to the overall design, delivery, rollout and support of the Salesforce-based products and actively participate in shaping solutions and setting up plans.
Support users during field testing; provide training and capacity building.
Deliver on assigned project tasks and ensure targets and deadlines are met.
Report regularly and escalate timely any project blockages or potential risks to the Product and Adoption Leads.
Work closely and regularly exchange ideas with other staff in the D Team and beyond, particularly those working on CRM-based solutions;
Contribute to other information management products/initiatives in which Salesforce plays a part or needs to be integrated with.
Ensure compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures, in particular to information security and data protection standards.
Specific Responsibilities
Ongoing administration and support of NRC’s Salesforce solutions including but not limited to managing user setup, profiles and roles, security and sharing, customization of objects, fields, record types, page layouts, validation rules and automation;
Carry out user management and Salesforce license administration (Cycles, Core, Protect and other products);
Create and implement test plans. Support users during the field and acceptance testing, including on-site support. Ensure users’ feedback is captured and considered for further development.
Support decisions with business and technical teams based on a thorough understanding of the possibilities and constraints on the Salesforce platform;
Assist with managing change control processes and rolling out new features efficiently with clear communication;
Evaluate new tools/applications as they become available in the AppExchange or Salesforce platform;
Collaborate with others in the D Team to prepare specifications for features, detailing functional requirements and see them through deployment;
Help establish and maintain a formal data governance process within the Salesforce instance/s to enable data quality and consistency across the platform
Maintain and regularly audit the system and consult with users to diagnose and resolve issues related to functionality and performance.
Prepare technical documentation and continuously update this over time.
Prepare high-quality and engaging instructional material, tools, and manuals and conduct training to field staff in various formats (remotely, in-person, etc.).
Provide direct helpdesk support to users in the early stages of rollout.
Assist in developing customized reports and dashboards and build capacity with end-user/business partners to do so independently through training. Continuously keep her/him-self up to date with latest releases and features. Learning and peer-exchange are a key part of this position’s attributes
Qualifications
Enthusiast learner and curious about what people want to achieve;
Proven experience with development of web-based solutions and/or CRM platform based solutions;
Degree in a directly related field, such as Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Management Information Systems is considered an advantage.
Salesforce system administration & configuration experience or education/certification, including experience with Salesforce/Force.com and familiarity with AppExchange;
Working knowledge of SaaS applications user access control and security management;
Strong experience in development and problem solving in complex, large-scale systems is considered an advantage;
Personal qualities
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and customer service skills;
Able to contribute substantially to evaluation and impact analysis on various design options – compare advantages and risks;
Experience in working in geographically distributed teams using online tools;
Experience working with Agile software management and related principles and tools;
Fluency in English, both written and verbal;
Other languages (one or more) – French, Spanish, Arabic – considered an advantage.
