A.P Maersk Senegal is looking for a motivated and driven Operation Excellence Business Analytics INTERN in Dakar.

This project aims to Drive and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing incremental improvements across various processes, systems, and practices.

The internship holder will Play a key role in our commitment to improve our delivery promises, Drive a culture of continuous improvement, Identify opportunities for enhancement and implementing initiatives to optimize processes and practices.

Main responsibilities:
Collect, review, and analyze logistic and operational system data which involves the understanding of professional logistics engineering principles and practices.

Analyze data from various sources to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas of improvement.

Prepares and/or compiles operating reports for management, and follows up on opportunities for improvement with Lean Tools

Assist with developing project, improvement, current or future state proposals and presentations for customers or management, provide information, and develop reports as required

Assist with identifying and delivering on project milestones, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring resources are available.

Perform efficiency studies, talk with supervisors and employees, and discuss with them to understand operations.

Work with the IT teams and/or external technology providers to enhance the capability to monitor and report on volumetrics, and productivity and provide visualization to the data.

Actively participate in or own continuous improvement projects,

Assist cross-functional teams on projects to understand business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Work with IT and Operations to ensure our systemic change management is correctly documented and tested.

Key Requirements:
Master’s degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics, Engineering (Industrial/Mechanical/Quality), or equivalent

Required Knowledge: Lean Six Sigma, CI, Process Improvement Methodologies, Project Management, Data Analysis & Statistics, Quality Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics.

Mastery of AutoCAD software.

MS Package proficiency (Power BI, Excel...)

Conversational English, and Fluent French is a Must.

Previous Internships is an advantage.

Skills: Problem solving, result orientation, communication, multitasking, and Analytics.
